Here is a selection of photos featuring Tottenham & Wood Green FoE members out and about campaigning on a range of issues. As you will see, we quite like dressing up...in animal costumes, mainly.

Picking up cans and plastic bottles, South Tottenham Station, June 2006

We picked up around 600 recyclable items - drinks cans and plastic bottles, mainly, and took them all to the Park View Road recycling centre. Bit of a grim and smelly job, but we wanted to raise awareness of the amount of litter lying there, and how most of it could be recycled.

Crushing cans, June 2006

Probably just as well this isn't a scratch 'n' sniff picture - the stink was vile in the mid-summer heat.

Palm oil action, February 2006

Palm oil plantations are the biggest threat to South East Asia's wildlife including the wonderful orang-utan. Food companies say it's not their problem, so FoE is urging the government to amend the Company Law Bill to make them take responsibility for their actions.

Visit to Spurs football ground, February 2006

This visit was a 'prize' for T&WG FoE getting a Better Haringey award. We found out that whilst the home team got heated seats the away team had to make do with cold ones...

Better Haringey Awards, November 2005

We got an award for best community initiative (for giving out lots of low-energy light-bulbs).

Palm Oil Action, October 2005

The orang utan makes his/her first appearance in the streets of Tottenham - outside Tesco's in Seven Sisters actually.

Climate Change Demo, July 2005

Our group is out in force.

Climate Change Action, June 2005

Haringey councillor and executive member for the environment Peter Hillman poses with a furry friend outside Wood Green Library.

Solidarity with FoE Nigeria, June 2005

FoE staff member Alison Dilwoth hands over our £250 donation to Rev. Nimmo Basso, head of the Environmental Rights Association (FoE Nigeria).

Trade Justice Action, April 2005

Is that Peter Mandelson or a cardboard cut-out - and can you tell the difference?

Esso Protest, November 2002

Beep Beep!! This was outside Esso on the High Road towards Stamford Hill.

Toxic Chemicals Action, September 2002

A giant teddy bear accosted Wood Green shoppers, urging them to support our campaign to phase out toxic chemicals from household products.
